The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath

The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath is a science fiction-horror novel by American author H. P. Lovecraft.

It is both the longest of the stories that make up his Dream Cycle and the longest Lovecraft work to feature protagonist Randolph Carter. Along with his 1927 novel The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, it can be considered one of the significant achievements of that period of Lovecraft's writing. The Dream-Questcombines elements of horror and fantasy into an epic tale that illustrates the scope and wonder of humankind's ability to dream.

Considered by writers as diverse as Joyce Carol Oates and Stephen King to be a masterpiece of the American horror/fantasy genre, The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath is the centerpiece of the 25 stories that comprise Lovecraft’s Dream Cycle and the longest to feature his protagonist and literary alter-ego, Randolph Carter.

Completed in 1927, it remained unpublished during the author’s lifetime. it is an epic tale that illustrates the scope and wonder of humankind’s ability to dream.

Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890–1937) was an American author of horror, fantasy, poetry and science fiction, especially the subgenre known as weird fiction. Audiobook read by Martin Reyto, running time 5 hours, 17 min. Unabridged full version. Also available as E-Book.
